Mildred Marie Spencer

Mildred Marie Spencer, age 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on July 31, 2025. She was born to the late Kathryne and William Baker on June 14, 1941, in Frostburg. MD. Mildred was a loving mom to many and the best Mom Mom ever. She loved baking and decorating homemade cakes for family and friends’ birthdays, showers, and weddings. Mildred also enjoyed expressing her creativity through flower arranging. In recent years she enjoyed cozy days at home watching the Hallmark Channel and all things Christmas. Above all else, Mildred cherished time spent with her family. She always looked forward to the annual family reunion in Frostburg, MD. Sunday drives with her husband and weekly family dinners were among some of her most treasured memories. Mildred was a truly wonderful woman, and her kind spirit and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Mildred is survived by her children: Sharon M. Brackin (Dale), Dean J. Spencer (Vickie), and Jay D. Spencer (Leah); siblings: Mary Schmidt (Dan), Lillian Brown, Carol Catron, Bernice Minner (Jim), and Marty Baker (Patty) and sister-in-law, Barbara Baker; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Jerry D. Spencer; brothers, Richard Baker and William Baker; and siblings-in-law: Doug Brown and Jim Catron. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702. A second visitation will take place the following day from 10 AM to 11 AM. A service in celebration of Mildred’s life will follow at 11 AM. Burial will take place at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720, immediately following the service.
