Paul F. Norvell Sr.

Paul F. Norvell Sr, age 88, passed away surrounded by his children on March 25, 2026 at his daughter’s home in Laurel, DE. Paul was the devoted husband of Dorothy Roberts, who predeceased him in 2012. They were married for over 55 years and shared six beautiful children. Born and raised in Wilmington, DE, Paul was the son of Walter R. Norvell and Margaret Green. He worked as a millwright at Chrysler for 50 years and was also a lifelong tree surgeon. For many years, he owned and operated his own tree business, continuing his work until his passing. A true outdoorsman, Paul enjoyed fishing, but his greatest passion was tree work. Paul was also a world traveler who loved old-time movies. He cherished time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often cooking with them, his chili and mashed potatoes were family favorites. He was a wonderful man who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Paul is survived by his children: Paul Norvell Jr., Deborah Mossop, Donna Collins (Richard), and Dianne Gerlach; grandchildren: Paul Norvell III, Joseph Norvell, Jason Mossop, Amanda Collins, Megan Mossop, Kristen Collins, Andrew Felecetti, Ashley, Christopher Gerloch, Jennifer Norvell, Timothy Mossop, David Mossop, Brittney Collins, Lauren Goffredo, Hailey Goffredo, Daniel Gofferdo; and siblings, Charles Norvell and Clinton Norvell. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter Robinson Norvell & Margaret Green; loving wife, Dorothy Roberts; children, Dawn Goffredo and Kenneth Norvell; grandson, Richard Collins Jr.; and siblings: Patricia Turner, Walter R. Norvell, Gladys Reese, Mary Ann Ryan, and Thelma Edwards. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 9:30 am to 11 am at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702. A service in celebration of Paul’s life will begin at 11 am. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Silverbrook Cemetery, 3300 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE 19805.
