It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Romeo “Tatay Romy” Felix, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this life on October 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 84 years old. Born into humble beginnings, Tatay Romy experienced struggles and resilience at an early life, having to leave school early to work in the fields and help support his family. He endured the challenges of farm life and harsh weather from a young age, but even then, he held close to his dream of building a better life. His early hardships shaped his strong character, unwavering work ethic, and deep sense of responsibility. Tatay Romy never took shortcuts. He worked with integrity, diligence, and quiet determination—earning the respect of those around him through performance, not promises. He believed that success came not from luck but from labor, and he lived that truth every day. As a husband, Tatay Romy was caring, dependable, and supportive. He and his wife complemented each other beautifully—her strength and creativity matched by his reliability and support. Though never showy in affection, he deeply cared, always recognizing her talents and trusting her to keep their home grounded. He stood by her side through life’s trials, particularly during times of illness, and encouraged her independence and contributions to the family. As a father, Tatay Romy showed love through action. He was not one for words like “I love you” or “I’m proud of you,” but his smile, quiet presence, and dedication spoke volumes. He instilled discipline and values through unspoken rules—dinner together was non-negotiable, food was never wasted, and respect was always expected. He held the house keys and would open the door when you arrived, often calling your full name if you were late or if you went against the unspoken rules. These small rituals became cherished memories. Together with his wife, he taught his children to be generous—giving to those in need but never enabling dependence. Even when worried or afraid, particularly during family illnesses or accidents, he rarely showed it. In his later years, his love became more visible, his tears more frequent when his children were in pain—a silent strength giving way to open emotion. As a son, Tatay Romy fiercely protected and supported his parents throughout their lives. He cared for them in old age with the same selfless dedication they once gave him. As a grandfather, or ”Lolo” he delighted in preparing his home for visits—making sure his grandchildren were fed, comfortable, and always felt special. He ensured their tuition was paid, gave them allowances, and took pride in their happiness. Tatay Romy was also a fair and thoughtful brother, offering good advice—even when unsolicited—and always striving to do what was right. As a nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend, he was the one people turned to. He never said no to a call for help. He gave not only financial support, but also his trust and confidence in others, encouraging them to become self-sufficient and strong. Though not overtly religious, Tatay Romy was quietly thankful to God for the life he was given—its challenges, its blessings, and its joys. As his health declined, he turned to prayer with greater frequency and prepared himself with grace and humility to meet his Creator. Tatay Romy leaves behind a legacy not written in headlines, but in the hearts of those he loved and supported. His life was a testament to quiet strength, enduring love, and the power of simply showing up—day after day, without complaint, with integrity. He is survived by his children: Virgilio Felix, Boyet & Elen Felix, Manny & Marlyn Felix, Millette & Dante Angeles, his grandchildren: Noel, Christine, Madelaine, Maui, Kim & May, Arvin, Ivann, Rommari & Atam, Hanzel, Johnlloyd, Angela, Jan, Dan, and Ian, his great-grandchild: Kai, his siblings: Oscar Felix, Avelina Carmona, Julita Fajardo, Aniceta Cruz, Yolanda Fajardo, Dominador Felix, and Virginia Agcaoili, and by his nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife: Eugenia Angelita Felix, his parents: Aquilino and Honoria, and by his daughter-in-law Teresita. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. His kindness continues to shine in every life he touched. A Catholic funeral Mass for Tatay Romy will be celebrated by Fr. No riches gained from schemes or pride, But passion, grit, and time applied. And so, in labor he found worth, Each task, a tribute to his birth. Rewards would come not fast, but fair, To one who gave his all with care. He asked for little, gave so much, With work-worn hands and gentle touch. He lived for others, not for fame, But left behind a glowing name. In every life he shaped and raised, He planted seeds that now are praised. Though he is gone, his light remains— In love passed down through joys and pains.
