Stephen C. Godbold

Stephen C. Godbold, age 71, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on August 17, 1954, in Pensacola, Florida, Stephen was the son of the late Warren B. and Nancy C. Godbold. Steve resided in Delaware for most of his life, living in the same home in Kiamensi Gardens for nearly 50 years. This long residence allowed him to build a close-knit community with his neighbors. He was a graduate of Dickinson High School and attended Delaware Technical Community College. Steve’s professional career as an Electrical Technician included tenures at DuPont and M. Davis & Sons. Those who knew Steve will remember him for his passion for cars, specifically Chevrolets. As a member of the Delaware Valley Camaro Club, he enjoyed participating in numerous car shows and cruises with his 2002 Camaro. He also loved traveling with Teddi, enjoying trips to Turks and Caicos, Yellowstone, Las Vegas, The Grand Canyon, Nashville, and various Caribbean locales while on a cruise. He enjoyed gardening, including growing vegetables in his yard, and building model airplanes. He is survived by the love of his life for 26 years, Teddi Tyler; his daughters: Brittany Martinez (Stephen), Meaghan Zambrano, and Sarah Miller; and two cherished grandsons, Camryn and Alex Martinez. He is also survived by his siblings, Kathleen Godbold, Frances Slater (Curt), and William Godbold (Bruce); a niece, Emily Peregoy (Evan); a nephew, Ransom Cozzillio (Kelsey); and his great-niece, Cora Peregoy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Warren B. Godbold III. A visitation will be held Friday, February 13, 2026, from 10-11 AM at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a memorial service in celebration of Steve’s life at 11 AM.
