Suzanne E. Yopp

Suzanne E. Yopp, age 67, passed away on the morning of September 20, 2021, peacefully after a long battle with breast cancer. Suzanne was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Levittown. After High School, Suzanne and her sister Carol traveled all over Europe. Suzanne worked and lived in Germany and spoke fluent German. After returning home, she lived again in her parents’ home in Levittown. At a Fourth of July party at her home, a friend of theirs brought his college roommate. That roommate would turn out to be her future husband, Michael. They married and together moved to Delaware. They had three sons, Christopher, Daniel, and Alexander. Suzanne was initially a stay-at-home mother until the boys became older, then she worked at several different jobs. Her last job was at the Bear Library, a place she loved to work because she was an avid reader. Suzanne loved animals and there were several in the household over time, including dogs, cats, and even ferrets. She would have a special voice she used to talk to the animals. Suzanne enjoyed needlepoint. She would always look for a needlepoint store whenever we traveled. Suzanne loved to travel. She loved meeting new people and shopping abroad. She really enjoyed shopping in NYC and touring the Met's annual costume and fashion exhibits. She will be deeply missed and always loved. She is survived by her husband, Michael; sister, Carol; brother, Frederick; son, Daniel and his wife Raquel; and two grandsons, Lucas and Logan; son, Alexander and his fiancée Lauren; cousins, Colleen and Daniel; and nephews, nieces, and numerous friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Delaware Humane Society and the Delaware SPCA. Services will be held on September 30, 2021, at Strano and Feeley Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, Delaware following her cremation. The public gathering will begin at 2:00 pm, followed by memorial speeches at 3:00 pm. For directions or to send an online condolence please visit www.stranofeeley.com.
