Ultan Joseph O'Sullivan

Ultan O’Sullivan, age 68, of New Castle, Delaware went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2025. Ultan was born in Dublin, Ireland on December 19, 1956. In his high school years, Ultan’s family moved to Holland and later, he came to live in the United States where he proudly served in the U.S. Navy for six years. Ultan met his wife, Jenine, through an ad in the local newspaper. Ultan always recalled that it was love at first sight when they met. They were married in 1994. Ultan was a history buff and loved any chance to discuss World War II related topics. He was also a transportation enthusiast and loved exploring the inner workings of buses, trains, airplanes, and cars. Ultan took great pride in the ongoing restoration of his 1950 Ford. Above all else, Ultan treasured his family, especially his three children. Whether it be watching their favorite Pokémon shows, or simply spending time together, his abundant love and support for his wife and family shone brightest of all his qualities. He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend to many and will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him. Ultan is survived by the love of his life, Jenine O’Sullivan (Cicchitti); children: Fiona Mary O’Sullivan, Sean Charles O’Sullivan, and Brendan Charles O’Sullivan; beloved pet: Marshmallow; his brother, Ronan O’Sullivan; sisters: Niamh O’Sullivan and Eabhan Ní Shuileabhàin (Gwyn Parry); sisters-in-law: Lisa Russell (Kenny) and Gina Cicchitti; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret (McLean) and Sean O’Sullivan. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 10-11 AM at Strano and Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702. A service in celebration of Ultan’s life will begin at 11 AM. Burial will be held immediately following the service at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 S Sproul Rd., Springfield, PA 19064. The repass will be at Tavola, 400 W Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA 19064. In lieu of flowers, Ultan’s family requests that donations be made in his name to Delaware Hospice.
